Prelude
In the ‘Lotus – the Story’ I shared how a little Lotus seed overcame its environment, found its real self, and accomplished its goals – producing a beautiful flower. In this chapter I will show you my physical energy form that mirrors the story of the Lotus Flower. My Lotus Energy Form will lead you through pushing away your negative thoughts and emotions, turning to the positive, gathering energy from the heavens, locking in your commitment and glowing your inner light just like the little Lotus seed in the previous chapter. Through regular practice my Lotus Energy Form will help you generate energy and balance internally. Have you ever actually seen Lotus Flowers growing? If you haven’t yet, you have missed something very incredible. Most plants only grow well in good soil and with clean water. The Lotus flower, on the other hand, only thrives and produces beautiful flowers out of murky, brackish water. Along your way through the form you may feel energy as warm, cold, or tingling sensations. Or you may see energy. Do not worry about feeling (or not feeling) something in particular. We are all unique. You may feel different things, or emotions, different days, depending on what is going on in your mind and environment. Relax, enjoy, and celebrate! |
1. The Lotus Form begins, as all of my energy forms do, as you stand straight and tall with your feet together, your palms together at your heart, and your elbows bent. Your right hand symbolizes your body, your left, your mind. When they are pressed together, palm to palm, you have put your body, mind, and spirit as one. This position may remind you of “praying”. Oriental cultures would say praying reminded them of respect and ‘body and mind as one’. This symbolism of respect towards others and your own purpose and goals has been present in oriental cultures for centuries. Bow from your waist to the universe, recognizing your commitment and your purpose. Acknowledge where you are and what you wish to accomplish or visualize. |
Too often we go through life not being aware or taking time to recognize our commitment to ourselves and our development. Take that time now. 2. |
3. Smile from deep inside. Visualize that even your toes and finger nails are smiling! Now that you are prepared to begin, the Lotus form begins with your arms straight down, hands together, close to and in front of your body. (See illustration below) Here you begin like a Lotus seed, rooted in earthly life yet hungering to rise above and be free from your stifling environment, free from your anger, free from jealousy, weakness, depression, fear, loneliness, and stress, etc…. |

9. Now, slowly, palm heels pressed as tight together as you can, pull your arms down your body’s center line to your heart level. Keep your elbows up and keep squeezing your palms together, tight, tight, tight. Visualize that you are pulling your commitment to your goals and dreams into your heart and locking it in. Visualize your Lotus plant’s bud is growing and changing from green to yellow, to orange, to red, to pink. With confidence bring the universal force of love, into your heart. |
10. As you move your pressed together palms down to the level of your heart, continue to press your hands together with all your might. (See illustration below.) You are gaining strength from the universe. Focus on your commitment to your goal(s). Visualize rising above your negative emotions like the Lotus flow raised its pink bud high above the murky pond. See each step towards accomplishing your goals. See each detail. Daily concerns are far away from you. If stray thoughts enter your mind, acknowledge them but push them gently aside. You will have time to deal with them later. This time is for you, your growth, and your commitment. |

12. With your Lotus flower hands open wide – expand your vision and grab it! Now beging to close your hands into fists. Close each finger individually into a fist, as your palm heels still touch. Visualize that you are gathering in your focus and determination. After you have curled in all of your fingers, lock your thumb in over your closed fingers. Visualize ‘locking’ your goals in your heart. In making your hands into tight fists, recognize that while each finger alone is weak, when pulled together into a fist, they are very |

15. Don’t give up! Pull with all your force! This is your goal, your heart’s desire – would you put in only 50% effort to reach it? Did the Lotus only bloom part way? No! Put in 110%! 200%! |
16. As your fists, palm heels facing towards your heart, reach your shoulders, pause. Slowly, still resisting, turn your fists so that your palm heels now face outwards your sides. |
17. You are now ready to complete your form. With everything you have, again resist your fists from moving. With your fists held tightly by your shoulders, palms facing out, prepare to open your wings… …And suddenly explode your arms straight out from your sides! At the same time exhale and stretch your hands wide as if you have little balls wedged between each finger. (See illustration below.) Pause and recognize how your body and energy feels. You are like a fully grown and blooming Lotus Flower celebrating in the sunlight! All the positive energy of the universe is now sealed in you. Negative emotions bounce off you. Feel completeness, bliss, freedom, love and joy! |
18.
After a moment or two of feeling your new found tranquillity, and peace, complete the Lotus Form by bringing your left leg back right next to your right and your palms pressed together at your heart. Bow again from your waist to the universe and to yourself, respectfully thanking them for what you have experienced, gained, and/or discovered. Your are ready now to bring what you have gained to every aspect of your life – – and – |
