Ki Belongs to Everyone
Western medicine is slowly becoming aware of the energetic nature of healing. In the East, however, disease has been recognized as unbalanced energy for centuries, and eastern healing methods, such as acupressure and acupuncture, have been used to rebalance disrupted energy patterns in the body so that healing results. So the science and study of ki energy is nothing new! Western medicine and psychology, generally speaking, simply don't incorporate an awareness of how ki energy supplements life systems However, this has been changing recently. Some of the "discoveries" being made in the area of energy - such as how visualization exercises can help cancer patients boost their immune systems - are actually "uncoveries."

That is, the power of energy exercises has always been there; the modern world is not inventing these ideas, but rather uncovering their existence. When I first came to this country and spoke of meditation, I heard people say, "Don't meditate: you will lose our mind." I couldn't even attempt to speak about energy or meditation except with senior students who had trained long enough to trust and actually experience what I was talking about. Now I find a growing audience receptive to the idea of meditation. More and more people today are awakening and opening their mind to the power within them and, in fact, are hungry for ways to understand and explore themselves. In the rest of this book, we will be looking specifically at how your ki impacts your body, relationships, environment, and health. And how to direct your ki in taking charge of your life. I'd like you to feel able to alter your energy in positive ways by the time you finish this book.and experience the beginning of a new start in finding out who you really are and what you can really accomplish. But, first, in this chapter, I would like to give you a little more background on the concept of ki. The fuller your understanding of ki, the fuller your experience of it will be. In a few words, here are the three concepts I'll be talking about in the rest of this chapter:
1. Ki vibrates.
2. Different frequencies of vibration produce different energies.
3. Ki can transform itself into different energies - environmental,
physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual - because it can change its speed of vibration (its frequency).
If these three concepts come easily to you, you can skip on to Chapter Two, where we get right down to using energy to shape and develop your individual self. If you're curious as to why ki vibrates and how it transforms into different energies you possess, I encourage you to reach for a deeper concept and understanding of ki. The vibrating nature of ki is the key to understanding why it's energetic. Isn't it interesting that the English language reflects the vibrating nature of our energy? When we talk about energy around us, we refer to feeling "vibes." When we are with other people in a particular environment, we may talk about having "good vibes" or "bad vibes," "peaceful vibes" or "hostile vibes." We may refer to someone as being "vibrant" or "radiant," which is also a comment on the vibrational quality of their energy. If you're interested in why this is so, get out your magnifying glass and let's look deeper into why energy works this way.
Have the best day ever!
With love, from my heart to yours,
